Thai Town Rotary

Hi all,

I spontaneously joined Lek Pollard (my favorite!) from Westchester Rotary for a Thai Town Rotary meeting a few weeks ago.

It was a blast. This club was started by our very own Lek just two years ago. We had some visitors from Rotary in Bangkok Thailand come. Among them, Dr. Patcharaporn Panyawuthikrai, Rotary Foundation Alumni Association President! That's exciting, I can't wait to join them as an alum after my year of study.

Here are some photos:

Also at the meeting were the dynamic duo Past District Governor John Colville and Assistant Governor Rick Searey who spoke on some District events.

The district is collecting toys for "The Christmas Train" rolling to Tecate, Mexico. I've acually been in Tecate, Mexico during the Epiphany in January handing out toys to masses of excited children. If I liked anything as much as these kids liked toys...

Check out this crazy toy-delivery line from that Alternative Break I did with Loyola Marymount University back in January of 2007:

So if you have toys and books, find me so we can donate them for this event next year!

That's all for now, goodnight!

Just saw this article on Google Blog. I am so impressed and very proud of our former Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, Cynthia Salim who just finished her scholar Master Degree from King's College, London and working for non-profit organization in Geneva now.
We,members of Westchester and Thai Town Rotary Club are looking forward to hearing and welcoming you back to Los Angeles! Way to go Cynthia!
